With a huge thanks to Tony Jacobson and his tractor, the scraping of the runway is now complete. The runway is usable but still a bit dusty, so jets might not be advisable.
Next, runway sealing.
The SLO Flyers Board of Directors approved the bid from CVA Coastal Division on 07-16-2022. Estimated work date is mid-August. The exact field closure dates will be announced as soon as they are available. (See July 2022 Minutes for more details).
Runway Sealing.
A test seal patch was applied to the south end of the runway and the results were unsatisfactory – the sealer does not adhere well to the asphalt. Sealing has been postponed indefinitely.
