Here’s two more images of the completed Contender. The airplane weighs 6 ounces less, ready to fly. More power, too.
I’m nearing the completion of converting my Top Flite Contender 60 from nitro to electric.
I have the Rimfire .80 (50-55-500kv) installed, along with the Castle Talon 90 ESC/BEC. I had to do some Dremel work in the cowl area as the 2 inch diameter motor was a bit of a tight fit. To keep the CG correct, the battery will end up just about centered on the wing leading edge (the motor is quite a bit lighter than the removed OS.55AX and muffler).
I got the initial radio settings done today and everything seems to be moving in the correct direction.
Just a little more Monokoting to do and it will be ready to fly!
