Airport Day

Saturday September 30th 2006

President's Note

We are still in process of planning for the upcoming

SLO Airport Day event. We are acquiring the

appropriate insurance forms and continue to try and

plan the static and flight demonstrations. Volunteers are still needed to help with setup and static displays.

An unscheduled board meeting was held on Monday 8-14-06, to quickly review the current budget and recap what we have accomplished during the past year.

As you all are aware, we have had what I would call an extraordinary expenditure year, with many field improvements. Examples would be the resurface of the

runway, gravel for the entrance road, the replacement of our power generator, club trailer, new signage, barrier replacement, etc. I would not expect that these type of expenditures would be recurring in the

near future. The board has decided to try and work to manage a tight budget this coming year to allow ample cushion of reserves, without any changes in dues or

any special assessments. That's not to say that there are not additional things to do to keep our facilities up to snuff, but we will choose carefully what gets

priority and of coarse volunteer help would make it easier. All in all I think we have accomplished much

to the improvement of our club facilities and everybody benefits. Thanks to all that have supported our efforts.
